My flight hit Fort lauderdale airport on 25th Eve, warm air & swinging palm trees greeted me on my way. Fort Lauderdale is not called the Venice of Florida without reason. This city by the sea is a fantastic holiday getaway with countless waterways, thousands of boats and numerous restaurants. The weather was much better compared to Cleveland though it was in the middle of summer.
The day before I went to key west, I'd been to Bay side area in the heart of Miami Downtown. Bay side mall was a happening place in downtown. There was a good bilingual narrated sightseeing cruise along scenic Biscayne Bay It was a good way to soak up some Florida sun.
The best way to get to Key west was to drive & trust me its gonna be fucking good; you come across these little islands, bridges, water bodies on your way. The drive of 170miles from Miami took a solid 4 hours. Most of the drive was on a single lane with a speed limit of 45-55mph & you got to have a really fast car to get ahead of the vehicle in front of you. In case you have a boat, its the ride of your life.
On our way we came across bridges, one of them was a 7-mile bridge pictured below. You got to be driving to feel the fun.

You could stop at the beginnning or at the end of each bridge, get down and feel the water!
